Martin Marincin opened the scoring by converting a pass from Linus Omark to give the Barons a 1-0 lead at 12:11. Omark streaked to the net, stopped and allowed the defense to pass before feeding Marincin, who beat Stars goaltender Christopher Nilstorp for the goal. Taylor Fedun earned the second assist on the goal.
The Stars got the equalizer at 13:58 while on the power play as Curtis McKenzie whacked at a rebound in front and got it past Barons goaltender Laurent Brossoit to even the score at 1-1. Maxime Fortunus and Chris Mueller had the assists on the goal.
The Barons regained the lead in the second period as Derek Nesbitt scored on a quick one-timer from the mid slot to push Oklahoma City back in front 2-1 at 7:51. Nesbitt's power play goal was aided by a Ryan Hamilton screen in front of the net. Omark and Fedun had the assists on the goal.

The Barons jumped back in front at 12:29 on a Travis Ewanyk goal that was setup with a pass from behind the net by C.J. Stretch. In his first game back in Oklahoma City, Kale Kessy registered a point with the goal's secondary assist.
The Stars got their third goal of the game at 17:26 as McKenzie snuck the puck under a sprawling Brossoit. After trailing in shots 10-8 at the end of the first, the Barons rallied for a 21-19 lead in shots after 40 minutes.

Stretch got the Barons back into the game with a high slot shot that went past Nilstorp on his glove side at 8:57. Matt Ford earned the goal's only assist that pulled the score even at 4-4.
The Stars answered back with a Sceviour goal at 10:03 to put Texas in front 5-4.
