Barnstormers to host Green Bay in second round playoff

After 24 hours of speculation, the Iowa Barnstormers learned their playoff fate would consist of a second round matchup against division rivals, the Green Bay Blizzard. The division rivals will meet for a third time this season, when Iowa hosts Green Bay on Saturday, August 8 at Wellmark Field in Des Moines, IA. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:05pm.
The Barnstormers (13-4) enter the game fresh off a 70-53 victory over the Manchester Wolves. Green Bay (11-6) advances to the second round after an impressive road victory on Saturday night, defeating the defending af2 champions, the Tennessee Valley Vipers by a score of 60-56. The two teams split a pair of matchups earlier this season as each team won on the opponent's home turf. Iowa defeated Green Bay 46-41 on May 8 in Green Bay, but the Blizzard got their revenge with a 71-65 overtime victory over the Barnstormers on June 13 in Des Moines.
