DES MOINES - The Iowa Barnstormers have signed defensive back Roosevelt Lawrence to the 2022 roster, Head Coach Dave Mogensen announced today.

Lawrence (6-1, 175, Northern Iowa) joins the Iowa Barnstormers for his for his first season in the Indoor Football League (IFL). Collegiately, Lawrence started his career at Iowa Central Community College where he spent two years with the Tritons appearing in 11 games and recording 47 total tackles, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery. Lawrence transferred to the University of Northern Iowa for his final two years of college. As a Panther, Lawrence appeared in 26 games where he recorded 94 total tackles, three interceptions, one sack, four pass breakups, and one forced fumble.

"Roosevelt starred collegiately right here in Iowa, first at Iowa Central and then at UNI," said Head Coach Mogensen. "He is a long, physical corner but has all the traits necessary to find success in the IFL."

Lawrence will enter the Iowa Barnstormers 2022 Training Camp in the Spring.
