DES MOINES - The Iowa Barnstormers have signed two players following the team's 2022 Open Tryout, Head Coach Dave Mogensen announced today.

On Saturday, December 4 in Des Moines, Iowa the Iowa Barnstormers held their annual Open Tryout. Over 30 athletes from across the country competed for a chance at making the 2022 Barnstormers roster. Two of those hopefuls, wide receiver Harvey Cadell from Michigan and defensive back Christopher Robinson from Maryland earned invitations to training camp.

Caddell (6-1, 195, Saginaw Valley State) joins the Iowa Barnstormers for his rookie season in the Indoor Football League (IFL). A Michigan native, Caddell was a multi-sport athlete at Detroit Loyola High School - a standout on both the basketball team and the football team before committing to Saginaw State University where he spent two seasons as a wide receiver.

"Harvey was very impressive at our open tryout," said Head Coach Mogensen. "He ran well and displayed the physical traits that match up with receivers at this level. I look forward to seeing what he can do in training camp."

Robinson (6-2, 247, Morgan State) also joins the Iowa Barnstormers for his rookie IFL season. Collegiately, Robinson spent four years at Morgan State University earning his starting spot with the Bears as a walk-on in 2012 after recording 40 total tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss, and 8.5 sacks. Robinson's success continued throughout his collegiate career as he broke school records earning his place as all-time leader in sacks and racked up numerous honors including Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference All-Academic First Team, Morgan State's First Team All-Academic, and the 2013 College Football Performance Awards Watch List.

"Christopher was someone who walked in at our open tryout and you could tell right away he meant business," said Head Coach Mogensen. "He was very impressive in drill work and once we got some more insight we found out he had a very accomplished college career. We think he can come in and be a force for us along the defensive line."

Caddell and Robinson will both enter the Iowa Barnstormers 2022 Training Camp to earn a spot on the final roster in the spring.

Season Tickets for the 2022 Iowa Barnstormers season are available now for as low as $96. For more information, call the Barnstormers front office at 515-633-2255 or visit www.theiowabarnstormers.com.
