Barnstormers Sign Defensive Lineman

DES MOINES - The Iowa Barnstormers have signed defensive lineman Allen Edwards to the 2023 roster, Head Coach Dave Mogensen announced today.

Edwards (6-3, 255, Pittsburgh) joins the Iowa Barnstormers for his first season with the team. Collegiately, Edwards began his career at Dean College where he was First Team All-Northeast before moving on to the University of Pittsburgh. Edwards spent two seasons with the Panthers appearing in 22 games and collecting 26 total tackles, 3 tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks. Before joining the Barnstormers, Edwards appeared in three games with the now defunct Louisville Xtreme in 2021 and spent the 2023 Training Camp with the Tulsa Oilers.

"Allen is a dynamic athlete with significant higher level experience including NFL time," said Head Coach Mogensen. "He is a similar explosive type of athlete to Dave Calderon, who we lost to an injury. We think Allen can step in and fill that missing piece for us right away."
