Barnstormers Shut out Patriots 3-0

Bridgewater, NJ- The Lancaster Barnstormers defeated the Somerset Patriots 3-0 at TD Bank Ballpark on Monday evening.

The Barnstormers broke a scoreless tie in the top of the seventh inning after two errors led to three unearned runs, including one on an RBI fielder's choice by Matt Tupman and an RBI groundout by Gilberto Mejia.

Ross Peeples (7-4) picked up the win with a complete game shutout that included just four hits and three strikeouts. Patriots starter Nic Ungs (3-5) suffered the loss, allowing three unearned runs on four hits in seven innings pitched. Reliever Luke Sommer pitched two scoreless innings of relief for the Patriots.

The 2011 Somerset Patriots Season presented by Ford will continue at home with a Day- Night Double Header on Tuesday with the first game scheduled for 11:05 am and the night cap at 7:05 pm.
