Barnstormers Name Jermaine Hampton as Defensive Coordinator

DES MOINESÃÂ -ÃÂ TheÃÂ Iowa BarnstormersÃÂ have namedÃÂ Jermaine Hampton as their Defensive Coordinator, Head CoachÃÂ Dave MogensenÃÂ announced today.
Hampton joins the Iowa Barnstormers organization with experience as both a coach and a player. After a successful collegiate career at Northern Illinois UniversityÃÂ as a two-time all-conference defensive back and Jim Thorpe Award Finalist, Hampton signed with the Indianapolis Colts. Hampton spent three seasons with the Colts,ÃÂ making his mark as the leading special teams tackler in 2001.
Following his stint in the NFL Hampton continued to pursue his football dreams,ÃÂ turning to the indoor game. Hampton spent time with theÃÂ Rock River Raptors and Chicago Slaughter of the Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL) and the Chicago Rush of the Arena Football League (AFL).
"I'm extremely excited and grateful for this opportunity, my one and only goal is to help bring a championship back to Des Moines, Iowa in 2022," said Coach Hampton.ÃÂ "I look forward to helping the young men on the Barnstormers reach the levels of success I did on the playing field."
