Iowa Barnstormers News Release

DES MOINES - The Iowa Barnstormers have added two defensive linemen to their 2017 roster with the signings of BJ Butler and Chris Martin, Head Coach Dixie Wooten announced today.

Butler (6-3, 290, Louisville) joins the Iowa Barnstormers for his second season in the Indoor Football League (IFL). Butler began his IFL career last season, where he appeared in 12 games with the Billings Wolves. In those 12 games, Butler collected 43 total sacks, three interceptions, and two touchdowns. Collegiately, Butler attended the University of Louisville, where he played for four years as a Cardinal appearing in 39 total games.

Martin (6-6, 260, Florida) joins the Iowa Barnstormers for his second season in the IFL. Martin began the 2016 IFL season with the Nebraska Danger appearing in 5 games before ultimately closing out the season with the Billings Wolves. Martin appeared in 9 games with the Wolves, collecting 28 total tackles and one interception.

"Signing BJ and Chris is huge for our roster, they have experience and can flat out rush the passer," said Coach Wooten. "To become a playoff contender, your defensive line must control the line of scrimmage. The combination of these two players will do just that."

Season Tickets are on sale for the Iowa Barnstormers 2017 season starting as low as $80 per seat. Don't miss a minute of the action this season! For more information, call the Barnstormers at (515) 633-2255 or log on to www.theiowabarnstormers.com.
