Barnstormers Home Opener On Friday, April 30

LANCASTER, PA - The Lancaster Barnstormers have declared a CODE RED for its home opener on Friday, April 30 when they take on the York Revolution for the first time ever in an opening weekend series. The home opener on April 30 also marks the first time that manager Tom Herr returns to the helm since leading the 2006 team to a championship season. A full listing of game times and brilliant promotions will be released at a later date.

The 2010 schedule once again features 140 games, and 70 will be played at Clipper Magazine Stadium. For the first time since 2005 Lancaster opens its season on the road, taking on the Long Island Ducks on April 22-25 and the Newark Bears on April 27-29. The 2010 schedule features 11 weekend series for a total of 34 weekend dates, and fans can expect to see at least one spectacular post-game fireworks display each weekend.

Fans can anticipate 70 new and exciting theme nights for each home game in 2010. The team will bring back popular promotions like Ladies Night, Go Green Night and Guitar Hero Night, but will introduce other new creative promotions for the 2010 season.

As the Barnstormers plan its fun and quirky promotional schedule, the team is planning new pre-game activities during the week as well. For the first time ever the team will host "Quizzo" in the Wheatland Suite on Tuesdays, and every Thursday fans can look forward to a Happy Hour with live music and food and drink specials.

The 2010 season features two scheduled day-night double headers. Fans can enjoy twice as much baseball and twice as many promotions during these four separate games. The first day-night double header is scheduled for Wednesday, May 19 when the Barnstormers take on the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs. The second is on Sunday, June 20 when the York Revolution returns to Clipper Magazine Stadium.
