DES MOINES - The Iowa Barnstormers have signed wide receiver Nate Stewart to the 2023 roster, Head Coach Dave Mogensen announced today.
Stewart (6-2, 215, Akron) joins the Iowa Barnstormers for his rookie season in the Indoor Football League (IFL). After a standout high school football career, Stewart spent four seasons at the University of Akron. In four years with the Zips, Stewart had 79 receptions for 1,071 yards and five touchdowns. Stewart then transferred to Montana State University for his final collegiate season where he appeared in seven games as a Bobcat catching at least one pass per game.
"Nate was a captain and three year starter in college, if not for an injury his senior season he probably would have ended up in an NFL camp," said Head Coach Dave Mogensen. "He has the size and physical traits to step in right away and be a great player here in the IFL."
Stewart will enter the 2023 Iowa Barnstormers Training Camp in the Spring.
