Iowa Barnstormers News Release

DES MOINES - The Iowa Barnstormers have signed defensive lineman Richard Souffrant to the 2024 roster, Head Coach Dave Mogensen announced today.

Souffrant (6'2, 245, Charleston) joins the Iowa Barnstormers for his first season in the Indoor Football League (IFL). Collegiately, Souffrant began his career at Southern Connecticut University where he spent his freshman and sophomore seasons. During his two years with the Owls, Souffrant appeared in 19 games collecting 54 total tackles, 12 tackles for loss, and 7.5 sacks. Souffrant then went on to the University of Charleston for his junior and senior seasons, appearing in 11 games as a Golden Eagle collecting 33 total tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, and .5 sacks.

""Richard is an ultra-athletic defensive lineman, who has had success at multiple schools," said Coach Mogensen. "He has tremendous length and a great first step, which will help him as he competes for a roster spot in training camp."

Souffrant will join the Barnstormers 2024 Training Camp in the spring.

"It's time for me to press that button to dominate and there is no better team than the Iowa Barnstormers," said Souffrant.
