Iowa Barnstormers News Release
DES MOINES - Iowa Barnstormers Interim Head Coach J.T. Smith announced today that the Arena Football League team has reached agreement with free agent offensive lineman Paul Fenaroli. Fenaroli brings much needed help to a battered and bruised Iowa offensive line.
Fenaroli (6-3, 310) attended Stoney Brook University from 2007-10, starting at center in every game for his final three seasons. Last season as a senior, Fenaroli was the anchor for an offensive line that finished 8th in the FCS in rushing. At the end of the season, he was given the Seawolves "work horse" award and was named to the all big south first team for the second straight season.
In a related move, the Barnstormers announced that WR Larry Beavers has been placed on the Other League Exempt list after agreeing to a contract with the CFL's Edmonton Eskimos. Iowa also has released WR Will Scott from his contract, effective immediately.
The Barnstormers are back on the road this week, as they head to Arizona to battle the Rattlers on Saturday June 11. Kickoff is scheduled for 9:05pm. Iowa returns home on Saturday, June 18 when they take on the Dallas Vigilantes at 7:05pm. The first 1,000 kids through the gate age 14 and under will receive a FREE Brad Banks youth replica jersey, courtesy of Coca Cola. Barnstormers Fathers day packages are also on sale for just $25 and include 2 game tickets, a hat for dad and the opportunity to play catch on the field prior to the game. Great seats are available for purchase at the Wells Fargo Arena box office, by calling the Barnstormers at 515.633.2255 online at www.theiowabarnstormers.com.
