Tulsa Roughnecks FC are losing the services of forward Gibson Bardsley. The club has agreed to terms that will allow Bardsley to immediately transfer to Pembroke Athleta of the Malta Premier League. He will depart Tulsa this week to join his new side.

The 10-team Malta Premier League schedule begins later this month. The winner of the league receives a spot in the First Qualifying Round of the European Champions League, while two teams receive spots in the Europa League.

Bardsley was one of the first-ever signings for the Roughnecks. He appeared in 17 USL matches for Tulsa, scoring four goals.

In April, he became the first Tulsa player to earn a spot on the USL Team of the Week following his performance in the Roughnecks' 4-3 win over Seattle Sounders 2.

"It's a dream come true to be able to return to Europe," said Bardsley. "This move gives me the chance to accomplish the goals that I have always had."

"My time in Tulsa was very well spent," he said. "Everyone from my teammates to the staff were very professional, and it was a great environment to be in. The great fan support created an atmosphere that I had not previously experienced in USL. Everyone was awesome, and I will never forget the Roustabouts."
