North Little Rock, AR - Arkansas RHP Nathan Bannister tossed his first complete-game shutout, guiding the Travelers to the 1-0 win against the Springfield Cardinals before 2,835 fans at Dickey-Stephens Park on Sunday afternoon.

Cardinals RHP Jake Woodford (L, 2-4) and Bannister (W, 3-2) dueled back and forth through four scoreless innings apiece, before Arkansas plated an unearned run in the bottom of the fifth. With CF Braden Bishop at third and one away, a groundball from RF Beau Amaral skipped off 3B Tommy Edman's glove, with the fielding error allowing Bishop to come home for the 1-0 Arkansas advantage.

Woodford closed out his performance with no further damage, allowing just the one unearned run on six hits with five strikeouts in a season-high six innings. LHP Jacob Evans followed Woodford with two perfect relief innings, keeping the Cards within just one.

But Bannister refused to give in, keeping the Cardinals off the board in the complete-game shutout performance to close the 1-0 win for the Travelers.

The Cardinals open a four-game series in Tulsa on Monday at 7:05pm. Catch all the action live on Jock 98.7FM and SpringfieldCardinals.com, and tune in 15 minutes early for the Coyote's Sports Cafe Pregame Show.
