
Bandits Sign Six Players for 2012 Season

BUFFALO, NY (November 18, 2011) --- Buffalo Bandits Director of Lacrosse Operations Scott Loffler today announced the team has signed six players to one-year deals for the 2012 National Lacrosse League season.
Goaltender Angus Goodleaf (3/6/1987, 6'2'', 328 lbs.) will return for a third season with the Bandits. The Kahanwake, QC native posted a .767 save percentage in four regular season appearances in net for Buffalo this past season. Goodleaf also made 22 saves on 28 shots in relief duty against the Toronto Rock in the 2011 NLL East Division Final.
Defenseman Travis Irving (4/9/1990, 6'4", 205 lbs.) enters his second season with the team. Buffalo's 2010 first-round draft pick (9th overall) from Maple Ridge, BC appeared in ten games for the Bandits last year, collecting three points (1+2), 20 loose balls and 18 penalty minutes.
Ben McCullough (1/20/1988, 5'10", 188 lbs.), Buffalo's second-round selection (13th overall) from the 2010 NLL Entry Draft, will join the team on defense for a second season. The Brampton, ON native briefly appeared in one game with the Bandits last season.
Defenseman Damon Edwards, drafted by Buffalo in the second round (15th overall) of a dispersal draft of Boston Blazers players, enters his first season with the Bandits. Edwards (08/30/1988, 6'1", 185 lbs.) recorded four points (2+2) and recovered 19 loose balls in 10 games during his rookie campaign with the Boston Blazers last season. The Toronto Rock's third-round pick (31st overall) in 2009, Edwards was a 2008 U.S. Lacrosse High School All-American and played collegiately at Brock University.
Rookie forward Jeremy Thompson (01/03/87, 5'11'', 194 lbs.) has signed on for his first NLL season. Buffalo's second-round selection (9th overall) in the 2011 NLL Entry Draft played two seasons for Syracuse University, where he amassed 33 goals and 53 points in 32 games, earning All-American honors in both years.
Another rookie forward, Jerome Thompson (5'11'', 200 lbs.), will join his brother Jeremy on the Bandits after inking a one-year deal. Buffalo's third-round pick (25th overall) in the 2011 NLL Entry Draft, Thompson was named the 2009 Junior College Player of the Year after scoring 65 goals and 56 assists in 16 games at Onondaga Community College.
