SAINT PAUL, Minn. - The National Lacrosse League's (NLL) Minnesota Swarm announced today that the team has re-signed G Nick Patterson to a one-year contract.
"We're excited to have Nick back," Associate General Manager Joe Sullivan said. "He has had some great games in the last couple of seasons and I know he is coming into camp prepared to build on his previous success."
In 2011, Patterson was named the starting goaltender for the West All-Star Team and earned NLL Defensive Player of the Week honors three times. He finished the regular season with a 7-6 record, 11.08 GAA and a .768 SV% in 15 contests.
The Swarm acquired the 5-foot-11, 185-pound goaltender with the sixth pick in the 2004 Vancouver Dispersal Draft. In seven seasons with Minnesota, Patterson has been named to the NLL All-Pro Second Team two times (2006, 07) and has compiled a 38-29 record. In 2008, Patterson posted career highs in wins (10) and minutes (906) and was selected to his first All-Star game.
Vancouver originally selected Patterson in the second round (19th overall) of the 2002 NLL Entry Draft. Patterson appeared in 18 games with Vancouver from 2003-04 before joining the Swarm's inaugural squad in 2005.
Patterson, 28, ranks first in Swarm history in wins (38), saves (2,637) and minutes (4,186).
