Bandits Name Assistant Head Coach

(December 14, 2007) The Sioux City Bandits of the United Indoor Football League are pleased to announce the hiring of Jarrod DeGeorgia as the Assistant Head Coach, Director of Football Operations and Offensive Coordinator for the 2008 UIF Season.

Jarrod has been a quarterback in Sioux City for the Attack in 2000 during the inaugural IFL season. He also quarterbacked the Bandits in 2002, 2003 and the 13-2 regular season of 2005. JD is the All-Time Bandits leader in passing statistics. He has played in 62 games with 752 completions in 1,389 attempts, good for 147 touchdowns and 8,615 yards. His completion percentage over his career is 54%. He averaged 139 yards per game and is his efficiency rating was an all-time best of 99.3%. In 2005, DeGeorgia played in 18 games, starting all 18, completed 192 of 337 passes for 54 touchdowns and 2,309 yards, which stand as an all-time season best. In addition, he completed 57% of his passes, good for 128 yards per game and his efficiency rating was 160.28%. In addition, in 2005, JD rushed for 18 touchdowns.

DeGeorgia has long been one of the most popular players to wear a Bandits uniform. JD is one of five players to have his jersey retired by the team. Before coming to Sioux City, Jarrod played arena football for the Iowa Barnstormers in Des Moines, Iowa and was the backup to former NFL MVP quarterback Kurt Warner. In 1999, he played for the Stockholm Crowns of the European Football League and was named Import Player of the Year and MVP. Jarrod played his college football at Wayne State College in Wayne, Nebraska, where he still holds numerous passing records.
