Sioux Falls Storm News Release

Fans of the Sioux Falls Storm and other area residents proved again this week how generous and giving they are. The Storm participated in two events this week that raised toys, clothes, food, and money for the needy in our community.

The first event was the 5th Annual Christmas Carnival, which was held on December 7. Storm fans donated over 50 toys along with warm clothes and non-perishable food items. The toys will be donated to the Toys for Tots program sponsored by the US Marine Corps Reserve. Other donations will be taken to The Banquet in Sioux Falls. Through the Storm, Stewart School donated fifty gift cards, valued at $10 each, to Children's Inn. In total, the Christmas Carnival generated over $1,500 in toys and clothing given to those in need in our community.

On Saturday, December 8, the Storm front office staff along with members of the Lightning Girls rang the bell for the Salvation Army Kettle Drive. The Storm was at the West Side Wal-Mart for four hours and raised $177 for the Salvation Army.

"This is just another example of the generosity of our fans and the Sioux Empire as a whole" Storm President Colin Steen says. "We are so proud to be apart of this community and happy to call Sioux Falls our home."

Season tickets are on sale now. Fans are encouraged to stop by the Storm office to pick their seats for the 2008 season. Season tickets can be purchased by phone by calling the Storm office at 332-4225.
