
Bandits Comeback for 7-6 Win

Quad Cities River Bandits News Release
The Bandits allowed three first inning runs, before coming back and chipping away at the LumberKings lead to win 7-6.
Bandit starter Anthony Ferrara went four innings allowing three runs on four hits. Ferrara surrendered three first inning runs, before settling down and throwing three scoreless innings after the first. The Bandits then scored one in the first and two in the second to tie the game at three. In the fourth the Bandits scored three more runs to take a 6-3 lead. The Bandits surrendered three more runs, but were able to hold on for the victory.
Justin Wright (2-0) came in to relive Ferrara in the fifth and went three innings allowing two runs on three hits while striking out three. Keith Butler (4) came into the game in the eighth and pitched 1.1 scoreless innings allowing one hit and one walk to pick up the save.
The Bandit offense was again Jonathan Rodriguez who went 2-for-2 with two doubles, two walks and three RBI. Second baseman Starlin Rodriguez also had a multi-hit performance, going 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI. Center fielder Nick Longmire was 1-for-2 with a run scored and three walks.
Ferrara was opposed by LumberKing starter George Mieses (1-3). Mieses went four innings allowing six runs on seven hits while striking out one. He also walked three in the game. Nathan Reed came into the game in the fifth for the LumberKings and went four innings allowing two runs on one hit while striking out five.
The Bandits continue the series with the Clinton LumberKings Thursday when the Bandits send Kevin Siegrist (4-1, 1.88) to the mound to oppose LumberKings starter Brandon Maurer (1-2, 3.00). First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at Modern Woodmen Park.
