Bandits Announce Additional Signings for 2009 Including Local Players

(February 5, 2009 Sioux City, IA) The Sioux City Bandits of the Indoor Football League are pleased to announce additional signings for the 2009 season announced today by Head Coach Jarrod DeGeorgia.

Blake Anderson (WR, 6'4 235 lbs) Anderson has just completed his college career with the Morningside College Mustangs. During his senior season he caught 69 passes good for 843 yards and 13 TDs. He ranks 7th on the all time reception list at Morningside with 137. Blake was named NAIA Honorable Mention All-American in 2008 and 2nd Team GPAC All Star Team.

Josiah Fenceroy (ATH/WR, 6'5 250 lbs) Coach DeGeorgia sees Josiah as a versatile player for the Bandits. The former Sioux City East product comes to the Bandits as a rookie to indoor football, but has a glossy resume from college. Fenceroy played for the University of Sioux Falls Cougars where they were 49-4 during his career. Winning the NAIA National Championship in 2006 and were runners up in 2007. They made the playoffs each of the four years he played for the Cougars. Josiah was on Great Plains Conference Championship Teams in 2004, 2006 & 2007. Fenceroy was a two time All American selection in 2006 and 07. He made the GPAC All Star Team for three years, 2005 to 2007. For his career at USF, he played in 43 games with 131 receptions good for 1,901 yards and 16 TD's. He was also invited to the Minnesota Vikings rookie mini camp in 2008.

Taylor Wallin (DL, 6'2 295 lbs) Taylor played high school football at South O'Brien High School Paullina, Iowa where he was All-Northwest Iowa and All-District twice. He started his collegiate career at Iowa Central Community College (2000-2001), and was academic all-conference and elected team captain. Wallin then went onto Northwestern College (2001-2004). There, he was a 3-year starter at nose tackle in a 3-5 defense and elected defensive line MVP. After that, he played semi-pro football for the Northwest Iowa Bruisers, Paullina, Iowa in 2005. In 2006, Wallin played for the Omaha Beef of the UIF. The following year, he played indoor football for the Iowa Blackhawks Council Bluffs, Iowa where he started at defensive end and was named all-conference and Lead team in tackles for loss. In 2008, he played for the Iowa Sharks, Sutherland, Iowa.

Alex Ardley (DB, 5'10 170 lbs) Ardley, a fan-favorite, returns to the Bandits for his 5th season, having played in 2004-2005, 2007-2008. Last season, he started all 15 games, had 64 total tackles, and 3 interceptions. Ardley is one of the Bandits' career leaders with 185.5 total tackles and 13 interceptions.

Buddy Williams (DB, 6'0 190 lbs) Williams returns to the Bandits for his second season, having played during the 2005 season. In 2005, he played in 11 games, had 79 total tackles, with 2 forced fumbles.

Letarius Lee (DL, 6'3 245 lbs) Lee returns to the Bandits for his second season, having played in 2008. In 2008, he played in 12 games and missed 3 games due to injury. In the 12 games, Lee had 30.5 total tackles, 8 tackles for loss totaling 29 yards, 3 sacks, and blocked 4 kicks to lead the League in that category. He is a graduate of the University of Sioux Falls where he played 3 years for the Cougars.

Donte Williams (OL, 6'5 295 lbs) Williams comes to the Bandits after just completing his college career at Morningside College. Originally a defensive lineman, he moved to the offensive line in 2008 and had successful season. For the Bandits, Williams will be counted on to be a part of the offensive line also.

The Bandits start Training Camp on Feb 27 and open the 2009 regular season on March 15th, at the Billings Outlaws. Home opener is scheduled for March 21st, with the Bloomington Xtreme at the Tyson Events Center.
