
Balbino Fuenmayor Wins Player Of The Week Honours

(Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium - Vancouver, BC) - The Vancouver Canadians Baseball Club is proud to announce that 1B Balbino Fuenmayor has been named Player of the Week by the Northwest League of Professional Baseball for the week of August 20-26.
Fuenmayor, 23, was a force for Vancouver's offense over the past week hitting .400 (12-for-30) with four doubles and a home run while producing five RBI. On Saturday, August 24th, Fuenmayor went 2-for-4 in front of a sold out Scotiabank Field crowd which included a two-run home run to cap off a 7-6 come from behind victory over the Boise Hawks.
This marks the second time that Fuenmayor has received the weekly honour as the native of Venezuela won for the week of June 18th through 24th.
The Vancouver Canadians travel to Yakima, WA on Tuesday, August 28th to open up a five-game road series against the Bears with first pitch set for 7:05pm. Heading into the final five games of the regular season, Vancouver is tied for top spot in the West Division with Eugene who will play tonight at home vs. Spokane.
