Bakersfield's Balanced Scoring Leads to Fourth Straight Win

BAKERSFIELD, CALIF., February 17, 2015 - The Bakersfield Jam (24-10) used a balanced attack to defeat the Los Angeles D-Fenders (9-24), 120-109, on Tuesday night at the Dignity Health Event Center. Seven Jam players scored in double-figures, led by Jerel McNeal's 29 to go along with a game-high nine assists.

Bakersfield finished the opening period with a 33-27 lead, thanks in part to Mac Koshwal's strong quarter performance (10 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists). Los Angeles took control early in the second frame as they went on an 8-0 run and had an eight point advantage (44-36) at the 6:30 mark. The Jam managed to put together a strong run (24-8) to end the first half and went into the break with a 60-52 advantage.

In the third, Bakersfield shot 55.6 percent from the floor, compared to Los Angeles' 37.5 percent, and won the quarter 39-26. The Jam would extend their lead to as many as 23 points in the fourth.

Xavier Munford tallied 15 points, six rebounds and five assists off the bench for the Jam. Koshwal recorded a double-double with 14 points and a season-high 20 rebounds. Casey Prather (14), Jamil Wilson (11), Joe Jackson (11) and Adrian Thomas (11) also scored in double-figures.

Jabari Brown paced the D-Fenders with a game-high 35 points (16/19 FTs). Vander Blue had 24 points and eight rebounds, while Roscoe Smith posted a double-double with 20 points and 15 rebounds.

The Jam will next host the Iowa Energy on Thursday, February 19 at 7:00 p.m. PT.
