Bakersfield Pulls Away from Idaho

Bakersfield, California - The Idaho Stampede fell to the Bakersfield Jam Saturday night, 100-107. The win brings Bakersfield to 18-8, placing the Jam atop the West Division.

The Stampede fell behind by as many as 13 points in the first half before battling back in the third quarter. Shane Gibson hit a 3-pointer giving Idaho a 64-61 lead, it's first of the game. But the Jam jumped to a quick start in the final period behind Phoenix Suns assignments TJ Warren and Tyler Ennis, to put the game out of reach for the Stampede.

Jerrelle Benimon led Idaho with 25 points while grabbing six rebounds. Jack Cooley continued his consistency inside, recording 15 points and 12 rebounds. Joel Wright came off the bench to contribute 18 points and nine rebounds. Newly acquired Jermaine Taylor made his Stampede debut, posting nine points, six rebounds and six assists.

The two NBA assignments led Bakersfield to its fourth consecutive win, combining for 63 points. Jamil Wilson and Casey Prather pitched in with 12 points each in the winning effort.

The Stampede return home to CenturyLink Arena on Tuesday night to host the Austin Spurs at 7 p.m.
