BAKERSFIELD - Bakersfield Blitz are playing the Rio Grande Valley Dorados on Saturday, May 13. Kick is set for 7:00 p.m. at the Rabobank Arena.
The Blitz team will face former Defensive Coordinator, Brett Clark, who is now the Assistant Head Coach for the Rio Grande Dorados. A Bakersfield native, Clark attended Bakersfield High School, Bakersfield College, and went on to attend University of Southern California. Clark was the Defensive Coordinator for the Bakersfield Blitz for the 2004 and 2005 seasons.
"This game will be a challenge, but fun as well," Assistant Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator, Cedric Walker said. "We know that with Clark being from Bakersfield he will want to bring his A-game, so we got to be up for that."
The Blitz returned home last Saturday with a 52-20 victory over the Spokane Shock. Saturday's win brings the team to an overall record of 4-1, with a current first place standing in the National West division. The Dorados have an overall record of 4-2, with a current second place standing in the National Midwest division.
In an attempt to pack out the stands in the color red and show support for our Blitz players, Saturday is "Paint the Town Red Night." When fans arrive at the game wearing red, they will receive 2 tickets for the price of 1.
The Bakersfield Blitz announced today the release of OL/DL, Will Goff. Goff (6-6, 306, Redlands) was placed on short-term injured reserve.
Season tickets for the Blitz 2006 season are still on sale, as well as single game tickets. Ticket plans start at the prorated price of $70 and single game tickets are as low as $10 in the lower bowl. Tickets will be available at the Rabobank Arena box office and any Ticketmaster location.
