Bakersfield Blitz Add New WR/LB Ryan Karr and FB/LB Gil Hernandez

BAKERSFIELD - The Bakersfield Blitz added WR/LB, Ryan Karr and FB/LB Gil Hernandez to their existing roster for the 2006 af2 season.

WR/LB Ryan Karr (6-3, 218, Hastings College) is the newest addition to the Blitz roster. This Nebraska homebred spent the 2003 season with the af2 Tulsa Talons and two years with the Memphis Xplorers in 2004 and 2005.

FB/LB Gil Hernandez (6-0, 248, Clark Atlanta) comes to the Blitz from the af2 Amarillo Dusters. Before attending Clark Atlanta University, Hernandez played for Georgia State and was named Defensive Most Valuable Player.

OL/DL, Kory Kipp and WR/LB, Ronnie Thomas were placed on re-assignment as of today, April 25.

Karr, Hernandez, and the rest of the Blitz team will be battling the Stockton Lightning on Saturday, April 29, at Stockton. Kick is set for 7:00 p.m. at the Stockton Arena.

Season tickets for the Blitz 2006 season are still on sale, as well as single game tickets. Ticket plans start at the prorated price of $70 and single game tickets are as low as $10 in the lower bowl. Tickets will be available at the Rabobank Arena box office and any Ticketmaster location.
