INDIANAPOLIS, IN-- The Indianapolis Ice announced today that all-star left winger Jason Baird was selected as this week's Bauer/Nike CHL Player of the Week. With the announcement, Baird joins New Mexico centerman, Mike Oliveira as the only two-time winners of the award this season.

Baird, 23, led the Ice attack in weekend wins over the Fort Worth Brahmas with seven points (3G, 4A) and a (+7) plus/minus in two games of work. He posted his first five-point night of his pro career in Friday's 5-4 overtime win and followed that performance with a one goal, one assist effort in Saturday's 5-0 win.

The huge weekend ascended Baird up the CHL scoring charts as he moved into a tie for sixth overall in scoring with 62 points. He leads all Ice players in points (62), three-or-more point games (7), plus/minus (+22) and penalty minutes (151) and is second in goals (22) and assists (40).
