
Bailey Extends Shutout Streak as Brahmas Blank IceRays

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - Cayden Bailey extended his shutout streak to 232:49 on Saturday, leading the way as the Brahmas defeated the Corpus Christi IceRays 1-0 at American Bank Center. Evan Googins recorded the game's only goal.
The shutout was Bailey's NAHL-leading eighth of the season. The Brahmas lead the league with 67 points on the season (33-8-0-1). Corpus Christi dropped to 13-24-3-3 (32 pts.).
Googins' tally came at the 9:12 mark of the first period, receiving a pass from Andrew DeCarlo and tipping the puck on the backhand through the five-hole of IceRays netminder Jeremy Forman.
Half of the Brahmas' 28 shots in the game were recorded in the first period. Lone Star went 0-for-3 on the power play and 2-for-2 on the penalty kill.
The IceRays return to action next weekend with a two-game visit to the Amarillo Bulls. Corpus Christi's next home games are Feb. 7 and 9 against the New Mexico Ice Wolves.
