Bacon Night Sure to be Sizzling

The Winnipeg Goldeyes, in conjunction with Manitoba Pork, are hosting Bacon Night at Shaw Park this Thursday, July 30, 2015.
As part of the bacon-focused evening, Goldeyes players will be wearing special bacon-print jerseys during the game against the Amarillo ThunderHeads, which will be auctioned off in support of the Field of Dreams Foundation at a later date. The jerseys come with matching bacon hats, which are available for fans to purchase at The Dugout Souvenir Store. Fans that show their bacon night ticket at receive a $5 discount on the hat.
"Even though this is our first Bacon Night, I am sure it will quickly become a fan favourite and we're looking forward to all the bacon-themed goodness that's planned for Thursday night," Goldeyes general manager Andrew Collier said.
The festivities begin as the fans make their way into the ballpark. For $5, fans can enjoy a delicious barbequed pork on a bun with bacon jam and a pop, from which the proceeds will go to the Field of Dreams Foundation.
During the game, fans can enter to win bacon for a year and several concessions will feature bacon-theme food options, including bacon poutine and bacon Goldie Dog from Goldie's Grill, bacon caesars at the various beverage stations around Shaw Park, maple bacon cupcakes from Cakeology and Meateor pizza from Boston Pizza. Every fan that purchases a bacon-themed food item or beverage will receive a ballot to enter-to-win a Goldeyes bacon jersey.
Every fan has the opportunity to participate in a bacon trivia contest. The first correct entry drawn from the ballot box receives a bacon-themed gift basket that includes a case of bacon, courtesy Manitoba Pork. There will also be a stress pig toss and the popular Bet Your Bacon between-inning promotion will feature enhanced prizes.

After two off-days, the Goldeyes begin a six-game homestand at Shaw Park on Wednesday night with the first of three games against the Amarillo ThunderHeads. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
