Erie Otters News Release
The Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League return to action Friday night when they host Owen Sound in the first of back-to-back games against the Attack at the Tullio Arena.
Saturday the two teams meet in a re-match at the Tullio Arena. Both games are at 7:30 p.m.
The Otters enter weekend action with a 3-9-0-2 record and coming off a home ice loss to the Sarnia Sting on Saturday. Veteran forward Sean O'Connor continues to lead the Otters in scoring with six goals and 11 assists for 17 points in 14 games. Nick Palmieri is Erie's goal-scoring leader with eight in the first 14 games of the season.
Owen Sound arrives at the Tullio Arena with an 8-5-0-1 mark and coming off a 4-2 loss to the Guelph Storm on home ice on Wednesday, their third consecutive setback.
Trevor Lewis, a 19 year-old rookie who was selected by the Los Angeles Kings in the first round of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, leads the Attack in scoring with eight goals and 11 assists for 19 points in 14 games. Second year forward Scott Tregunna is enjoying a breakout season offensively. He's listed second in Owen Sound scoring with six goals and 10 assists for 16 points in 14 games.
The weekend games will mark the second and third between the two teams this season. Owen Sound won the season series opener with a 4-2 decision on home ice on October 9th.
Tickets for both games are available at all Erie-area TicketMaster locations as well as the Civic Center Box Office. Saturday's game is sponsored by Emergycare with the first 1,000 children 12 and under receiving a free pair of thunder sticks.
Both games can be heard live on 1330 Erie's ESPN Radio beginning with the pre-game show at 7:15 p.m. Saturday's game can be seen live on the Image Sports Network (Time Warner City Channel 20, County Channel 12) beginning at 7:30 p.m.
