BRADENTON, Fla. - After gaining and then losing an early five-run lead, the Marauders bounced back to defeat the Lakeland Flying Tigers, 7-6, on Saturday night at LECOM Park.

The Marauders (9-8) sent nine men to the plate in the bottom of the second inning against Lakeland starter Gio Arriera, getting two-run triples from Sammy Siani and Endy Rodriguez putting Bradenton in a 4-0 lead. Maikol Escotto then plated Rodriguez with a single, stretching the Marauders' lead to 5-0 and extending Escotto's team-best on-base streak to 12 games.

In the top of the third, an Eric De la Rosa RBI-single and a run-scoring groundout by Wenceel Perez cut the Marauders' lead to three. That would be the final inning for J.C. Flowers in his starting debut for the Marauders, after the right-hander allowed two runs on two hits and a pair of walks, striking out five.

Steven Jennings (2-0) entered to pitch the fourth inning in relief, and after allowing a two-out single and a walk, surrendered a game-tying three-run homer to the Flying Tigers' Andrew Navigato.

Jennings, however, bounced back to hold Lakeland scoreless over the next two innings, and the Marauders jumped back in front, 7-5, in the bottom of the fifth on an RBI-triple by Jase Bowen and an Alexander Mojica sacrifice fly.

The Flying Tigers (8-9) came within one run in the seventh inning as De la Rosa walked and later scored on a wild pitch, but Cameron Junker escaped a two-out, two-on jam in the eighth and Oliver Mateo struck out the side in the ninth to earn the save and preserve the victory.

Michael Bienlien took the loss in relief for Lakeland, walking four batters and allowing the decisive two runs to score in the fifth for the Marauders.

The series concludes Sunday as 1:05 p.m. at LECOM Park. RHP Adrian Florencio (0-1, 1.50 ERA) is scheduled to pitch for the Marauders against Lakeland RHP Carlos Guzman (1-1, 3.09 ERA).
