B-Sens to Auction Special DIFD Jerseys in Support of Mental Health

February 11, 2015 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Binghamton Senators News Release

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators will be auctioning off seven of their special Do It For Daron (DIFD) themed jerseys through an online auction starting Thursday, February 12, at noon (EST). The auction will conclude February 22 at noon (EST).

The DIFD jerseys will be worn by the B-Sens during their game versus the Toronto Marlies on February 15 at the Canadian Tire Centre as well as on February 20 when Binghamton hosts the Hershey Bears at the Floyd L. Maines Veterans Memorial Arena. All proceeds raised through the online auction will go to the Mental Health Association of the Southern Tier.

DIFD was created in honor of Daron Richardson, the 14-year-old daughter of B-Sens head coach Luke Richardson, who lost her life to suicide in November 2010. DIFD seeks to inspire conversations about youth mental health and promote mental well-being. Mental health isn't always easy to talk about, but it's definitely worth talking about - the earlier a mental illness is recognized and treated, the better the chances are for recovery.

The complete list of jerseys being auctioned off online are:

Chris Wideman

Aaron Johnson

Andrew Hammond

Shane Prince

Matt Puempel

Colin Greening

Todd Bertuzzi

Fans can go to: stores.ebay.com/Binghamton-Senators-Team-Shop or go to bsens.com, scroll over to the shop link and click on eBay auctions. Bids will start at $299.99.

The remaining jerseys will be raffled off at the B-Sens versus Hershey Bears game on Friday, February 20.
