B-Sens Sign Goaltender Daren Machesney

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators announced today that they have signed goaltender Daren Machesney to a professional try-out contract.

Machesney, 24, spent last season with the American Hockey League's Manitoba Moose. In 21 games with the Moose, Machesney posted a 5-14-0 record with a 3.34 goals-against average and .894 save percentage.

The Hamilton, Ont. native has appeared in 106 career AHL games with Hershey, Manitoba and Springfield, posting a 49-39-4 record, including four shutouts, with a 2.71 goals-against average and a .896 save percentage.

The 6-0, 185-pound net minder was the Washington Capitals' fifth round pick (143rd overall) of the 2005 National Hockey League Entry Draft.

The B-Sens return to action tonight as they host the Adirondack Phantoms. The first 3,000 fans in attendance receive a free B-Sens team poster. There will also be a post-game autograph session on ice. Tickets are $17.75 for side seating, $16.75 for end seating.
