September 1, 2015 - Frontier League (FL)
Rockford Aviators News Release
LOVES PARK - The Aviators staged a comeback victory against the Frontier Greys Tuesday evening in Loves Park, scoring 6 times in the 8th to win 10-7. The win kept the Aviators one game back of the Freedom, who defeated the ThunderBolts 8-1 in Florence.
The Aviators fell behind early when the Greys capitalized for a pair off Tony Rizzotti in the 1st frame. They quickly came back though, scoring once in the 1st and 3 times in the 2nd for their first lead.
Rizzotti would exit in the 5th with an unspecified injury. The Greys tied the game in that frame and added 2 in the 6th to get out to another 2-run advantage.
The Aviators did not give up though, exploding for 6 runs on 4 hits, 4 walks, and an error to get out to the largest lead of the game.
The win was the 46th of the year for the Aviators. Paul Lujan notched his first win of his pro career by throwing 2 scoreless frames, and Colby Holmes got the save.
The Aviators once again meet the Greys tomorrow at 6:35. Roberto Padilla will be on the hill. $1 tickets for the game are still available. Call 815-885-BALL or visit rockfordaviators.com to reserve yours today!
