November 25, 2016 - American Hockey League (AHL)
San Antonio Rampage News Release
SAN ANTONIO- The Colorado Avalanche announced today that goaltender Spencer Martin has been recalled from the San Antonio Rampage (AHL).
Martin, 21, has appeared in 13 games with San Antonio this season, recording an 8-5-0-0 record, .924 save percentage and 2.21 goals against average. The second-year pro is tied with St. John's Charlie Lindgren for the second-most wins this season, and holds the fifth-best rookie goals against average. Martin played in 18 games for the Rampage last season, registering a .921 save percentage, 2.65 goals against average, and CCM/AHL Player of the Week honors in late March.
"I'm excited to get my first NHL call up," said Martin. "I'm going to do my best on the ice and try to learn as much as possible while I'm with the Avalanche."
Martin's first recall to the NHL serves as Colorado's fourth recall from San Antonio this season. The rookie netminder looks to make his NHL debut as he joins former Rampage players Calvin Pickard, Nikita Zadorov, Andreas Martinsen, and Mikko Rantanen in Colorado.
The San Antonio Rampage return to the AT&T Center after a week off to take on Pacific Division rivals the Texas Stars tonight at 7:30 p.m. CT. All Rampage games can be heard on Ticket 760 and SARampage.com. Individual and season tickets are available and can be purchased by calling a Rampage representative at 210-444-5554 or online at SARampage.com. The 2016-17 season is presented by Wells Fargo.
