AUSTIN, TX Mar. 27, 2014- The Austin Toros today announced that they have acquired forward Steven Smith. Smith joins the team in time for tonight's matchup against the Iowa Energy at Cedar Park Center at 7:30pm. The roster stands at 10 after moving Ben Strong to inactive status.
Smith (6-9, 250) most recently played in the Italian League for Virtus Bologna during the 2012-13 season where he appeared in 23 games, averaging 11.5 points and 5.1 rebounds in 30.9 minutes. Undrafted out of La Salle University, Smith began his professional career in 2006 when he appeared in eight games with the Philadelphia 76ers. In 2007 he joined the Anaheim Arsenal of the NBA D-League, averaging 18.8 points and 6.5 rebounds in 45 games. His professional career includes stints in Italy, Greece, Israel and Germany.
