AUSTIN, TX- The Austin Spurs (4-3) fell to the Greensboro Swarm (3-7), (99-105) at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park Friday evening.
Cory Jefferson recorded his first double-double performance of the season, scoring 19 points (7-13 FG, 4-6 FT) and 13 rebounds in 37 minutes. Patricio Garino contributed 18 points and 9 rebounds in 36 minutes, while Jarrell Eddie chipped in with 20 points in 36 minutes. Off the bench, Pelicans assignee Cheick Diallo scored 10 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 blocks in 22 minutes.
After a close first quarter, the Swarm began to pull away in the second, taking a 57-47 lead going into halftime. Austin attempted a comeback in the last two minutes of the fourth period, with back-to-back 3-pointers by Eddie and Garino bringing the game within 3 points (97-100), but the Spurs would still fall short. Despite the loss, Austin had six players in double-figure scoring (Charles Garcia - 14, Demetri McCamey - 14).
Xavier Munford paced the Swarm with 25 points and 9 rebounds. Archie Goodwin contributed 19 points and 5 rebounds, while Perry Ellis recorded 18 points and 8 boards.
The Austin Spurs host the Salt Lake City Stars on Saturday, December 3 at 7:00 p.m. for Spurs Affiliate and Scouts Night.
