CEDAR PARK, Texas - San Antonio Spurs assignee Boban Marjanovic posted a double-double with 21 points and 15 rebounds as the Austin Spurs fell to the Bakersfield Jam (21-23) 103-73 Sunday afternoon at Cedar Park Center.
San Antonio Spurs assignee Jonathon Simmons and teammate Keifer Sykes each posted 12 points for Austin.
Terrico White led Bakersfield with 25 points, while teammate Cory Jefferson contributed 23 points.
Bakersfield controlled the first using a 10-4 run with eight minutes remaining to take an 18-10 lead. Austin responded posting the next six points of the game to cut the lead in half, 19-15. Bakersfield maintained their momentum outscoring Austin 33-21. Marjanovic posted nine points and nine rebounds for Austin, while White recorded 10 points.
In the second, Austin fought back outscoring Bakersfield 24-19. They came within four, 45-49, with under a minute to play, but Bakersfield maintained the lead. Austin posted 14 points in the paint (7-of-13) while Bakersfield posted six points in the paint (3-of-8). Bakersfield led Austin at the half 52-45.
Bakersfield led 62-57 with six minutes remaining in the third but they used a 9-2 run over the next three minutes to grow their lead back to 12, 71-59. They finished the quarter up 77-59.
Bakersfield outscored Austin 26-14 in the fourth quarter, ending the game with a final score 103-73.
