Austin FC to Face CF Monterrey, Pumas UNAM in Leagues Cup 2024 Group Stage

Austin, TEXAS - Austin FC was drawn with Liga MX clubs CF Monterrey and Pumas UNAM for the Leagues Cup 2024 group stage. The full tournament schedule, including locations, dates, kickoff times, and ticket information for the Leagues Cup 2024 group stage matches will be announced as soon as it is available.

Leagues Cup 2024 will take place from July 26 to August 25 and feature all 47 teams in Major League Soccer (MLS) and Liga MX. The tournament will be played across the U.S. and Canada. The champion, as well as the second and third place finishers, will qualify for the 2025 Concacaf Champions Cup and the opportunity to earn a spot in the FIFA Club World Cup.

The competition will once again feature 15 groups consisting of three (3) teams, with the top two (2) teams from each group advancing to the knockout rounds. The 30 teams which advance from the group stage will join the reigning MLS and Liga MX champions in the Round of 32.

Matches cannot end in a tie with Leagues Cup's unique format. In the event a group stage match is tied at the end of 90 minutes, both teams receive one (1) point. The winner of the ensuing penalty shootout receives an additional point.
