
Austin FC Announces 2022 MLS Regular Season Schedule

Austin, TEXAS - Austin FC announced on Wednesday the full 34-match schedule for its 2022 Major League Soccer (MLS) regular season. The Club will kick off its second season with back-to-back home matches at Q2 Stadium against FC Cincinnati and Inter Miami CF on Saturday, February 26 and Sunday, March 6 respectively, with the March 6 match against Miami nationally televised on ESPN. ATXFC's first road match of 2022 will see the Verde & Black take on defending Western Conference champions the Portland Timbers on Saturday, March 12 at Providence Park in Portland, Oregon.
As a member of the Western Conference, Austin FC's schedule will feature 26 total matches against its 13 Western Conference rivals (1 home and 1 road against each Western Conference opponent). Nashville SC, which was a member of the Eastern Conference in 2021, will make its first visit to Austin on Saturday, September 17. The 2022 MLS regular season will conclude on Decision Day, October 9, when ATXFC will play Colorado Rapids at Q2 Stadium. The 2022 Audi MLS Cup Playoffs are scheduled to conclude with MLS Cup on Saturday, November 5.
After facing two (2) Eastern Conference opponents in 2021, ATXFC will play eight (8) inter-conference matches against Eastern Conference opponents in 2022, four (4) at home and four (4) on the road. The Verde & Black will host FC Cincinnati, Inter Miami CF, Orlando City SC (Sunday, May 22), and New York Red Bulls (Sunday, July 24) at Q2 Stadium, and travel to play D.C. United (Saturday, April 16), CF Montréal (Saturday, June 18), 2022 expansion club Charlotte FC (Thursday, June 30), and Atlanta United FC (Saturday, July 9).
Eight (8) Austin FC matches in 2022 will feature a national broadcast on linear television. In addition to the March 6 match against Inter Miami CF (3:00pm CDT, ESPN), the Club's home matches at Q2 Stadium against Seattle Sounders on Sunday, March 20 (3:30pm CDT, FS1), Minnesota United FC on Sunday, April 10 (6:30pm CDT, FS1), LA Galaxy on Sunday, May 8 (6:00pm CDT, FS1), Houston Dynamo FC on Tuesday, July 12 (8:00pm CDT, UniMás), and Los Angeles FC on Friday, August 26 (7:00pm CDT, ESPN) will be broadcast nationally, as well as away matches against Houston Dynamo FC on Saturday, April 30 (12:30pm CDT, Univision) and LA Galaxy on Sunday, May 29 (TBD, UniMás).
Austin FC's schedule also features an Independence Day match, when the Verde & Black will face Colorado Rapids at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colorado on Monday, July 4.
All Austin FC 2022 MLS matches which are not nationally televised will feature regional broadcasts in both English and Spanish language. All Austin FC media partners from 2021, which include KXAN (NBC), KNVA (CW Austin), KBVO (MyNetwork), KAKW (Univision), iHeartRadio (ALT 97.5 FM), and TUDN Radio Austin (104.3-HD2, KLQB) will return in 2022. Additional broadcast details including channel assignments and digital distribution platforms across Central Texas will be released prior to the start of the 2022 season.
ATXFC was the only MLS club to sell out all 17 of its regular season home matches in 2021, with an average attendance of 20,738 which represents 100 percent of Q2 Stadium capacity for MLS matches. With tickets in high demand, fans interested in attending Austin FC home matches are encouraged to join the 2022 Waitlist Membership, which will provide pre-sale access for single match tickets to regular season MLS home matches for the 2022 season on Thursday, December 16. The general public will have the opportunity to purchase single match tickets from Friday, December 17.
The Club's 2022 home schedule features one (1) Tuesday match, two (2) Wednesday matches, one (1) Friday match, six (6) Saturday matches, and seven (7) Sunday matches. Austin FC will play one (1) match in February, three (3) in March, five (5) each in April and May, three (3) in June, six (6) in July, five (5) in August, four (4) in September, and two (2) in October.
