RECORD: The Lake Monsters are 24-28 after a 4-3 loss at Batavia on Wednesday ... Vermont is 5-13 in its last 18 games since being season-high 4 games over .500 (19-15) on July 24th ... The Lake Monsters are now 4 games under .500 for the 1st time this season ... Vermont has lost 3 straight games on road, falling to 14-14 in 28 road games overall.

ALL-STARS: 4 Lake Monsters have been selected to play in NY-Penn League All-Star Game at State College on August 18th ... Infielders Francisco Soriano and Sean Nicol, along with pitcher Evan Bronson and Mitchell Clegg were named to team.

SUDDEN ENDING: Wednesday's loss in the bottom of the 9th inning marked 5th time that Lake Monsters have been beaten in game-ending fashion, including 3 times in last 15 games (2 on game-ending home runs) ... Vermont has 2 game-ending wins.

1-RUN GAMES: Lake Monsters are 7-11 in 1-run games, including losses in each of the last 5 games decided by 1 run ... Vermont also 1-5 in games when scored was tied after 8 innings.

12-PACK FOR HIGLEY: J.R. Higley was 0-for-3 on Wednesday to snap his 12-game hitting streak, tying Francisco Soriano for Lake Monsters longest hit streak of the season ... Higley hit .429 (21x49) during the 12-game hitting streak.

WALK THIS WAY: With 6 walks by Lake Monster pitchers in the loss at Batavia Tuesday, Vermont is now 3-11 this season when they walk at least 5 batters in a game ... Lake Monsters are 10-8 when their opponent has 5 or more walks in a game.
