
Auger Dominates Sea Dogs Awards

SAINT JOHN - Sebastien Auger brought home nearly half of the hardware at the annual Sea Dogs awards banquet, which took place at the Delta Brunswick Ballroom Tuesday night.
The sophomore netminder was the winner of the biggest honour of the night, the Bell Aliant Most Valuable Player. He also grabbed the Tim Horton's Most Improved player, Children's Wish Foundation Fans Choice Award, the Irving Oil Team Player Award and the Alpine Three Stars Award.
Pierre Durepos captured the Saint John Airport Academic Player of the Year and Sun Life Global Investments Top Defenceman honours. Jason Cameron put forth a great community effort throughout the season to nab the Scotiabank Community Service Award and Jakub Izacky had the best offensive output to take home the Pepsi Top Scorer Award.
It was another duo of talented young players to win the Grant Thornton Rookie of the Year Award. Stephen Anderson had a great season up front and Olivier LeBlanc put up a fantastic showing on the back end as the two players took home the top rookie honour.
The Sea Dogs head back to work this weekend against the Halifax Mooseheads for the first round of the 2013 QMJHL playoffs. The full first-round schedule is as follows:
