
Audi Field Announce Update to Capital Cup Tournament and Final Schedule

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Audi Field have today announced an update to the Capital Cup tournament format and schedule. Due to health and safety protocols, Alianza FC will no longer participate in their match originally scheduled for Sunday, July 11 at 5:30 p.m. EST against D.C. United.
The tournament has been adjusted accordingly and Sunday's match will now feature the second-leg of a two-legged championship between D.C. United and Liga Deportiva Alajuelense. D.C. United will bring a one goal advantage into Sunday's match following their 1-0 victory on Wednesday night. If the two teams are level on aggregate score following the second-leg on Sunday, the championship will be decided by penalty kicks. Note, there will not be an away goal rule in place.
Head Coach Hernán Losada is expected to field a strong starting lineup for the second leg of the championship as he seeks to win his first trophy for the Black-and-Red.
