Owen Sound Attack News Release

Former Attack 1st Rounder Steven Shipley will make his second appearance at the Bayshore since his trade in the fall of 2010 when the Niagara Ice Dogs square off against the Owen Sound Attack tonight at the Bayshore. The Ice Dogs are without four of their top players as Freddie Hamilton, Dougie Hamilton, Mark Visentin and Ryan Strome are all in Alberta representing Canada at the 2012 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship. Steven Shipley and Myles Doan were both picks of the Owen Sound Attack at the 2008 OHL Priority Selection.

The Attack sit 5th in the Western Conference, 3 points behind the 4th place Sarnia Sting, while after a slow start, the Ice Dogs have began to climb the Eastern Conference standings and currently sit 4th, having won 7 of their past 10 games.

The Attack won 2 out of 3 games prior to the Christmas break with their last victory being a 3-1 victory over the Kitchener Rangers. In their past 20 games, the Attack are 12-6-1-1 and have collected a possible 26 out of 40 points.

Tickets for tonight's tilt with the Ice Dogs are available at the Attack Box Office in the main lobby of the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre, by calling (519) 371-7452 or online at www.attackhockey.com . Game time this evening is 7:00pm.
