Attack, Strategic Way Consulting & Their Opportunity Team up for Indigenous Hockey Equipment Drive

The Owen Sound Attack has teamed up with Strategic Way Consulting and Their Opportunity for an Indigenous Hockey Equipment Drive this Saturday, March 11 at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre. There will be two opportunities to donate first in the afternoon from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the parking lot and then on your way into the the Attacks game against the Oshawa Generals that night.

The idea of an Indigenous Hockey Equipment Drive was first brought forward in 2019-20 by a team scout Mitch Avis and player Ethan Burroughs, unfortunately the pandemic put a major delay in being able to execute this community effort. The idea has now finally come to fruition with the help and support of Strategic Way Consulting.

"When Strategic Way approached us about doing a cause marketing game night promotion this season for the indigenous community, we were immediately on board" said Attack Manager of Marketing and Communications, Greg Hoddinott. "We bounced around some different ideas but the equipment drive kept landing at the top of the list."

Strategic Way Consulting has teamed up with Their Opportunity, a national children's charity that delivers and subsidizes local sport for development and community engagement programming, to present this game and hockey equipment drive. All equipment donations will be provided to Saugeen Ojibway Nation which includes the Saugeen and Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nations.

Location: Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre

Timing:

10am to 3pm (Parking Lot),

6pm to 8pm (entrances to Attack Game)
