Owen Sound Attack News Release
The Owen Sound Attack carried the momentum from their overtime win a night ago, into early going of their Saturday battle with the Guelph Storm. The Attack racked up six first period goals, then held on for a 7-5 win over the first place Storm. Leading the way for the Attack was Sergey Popov with a goal and two assists, while Kaleb Pearson, Barret Kirwin, Kaleb Lawrence Brady Lyle and Deni Goure all tallied two points each. Eric Uba had two goals for the Storm.
The Attack came out ready to play with quick pressure on the Storm, which turned into an early 1-0 lead on a Kaleb Pearson tip from a Brady Lyle point shot just over a minute into the game. The Attack didn't wait long to extend their lead, when Kaleb Lawrence sprung Joshua Samanski in on the right side, Samanski used a quick shot to beat Owen Bennett and make it 2-0. The Attack continued to build on their lead just under two minutes later when Brady Lyle beat Bennett to make it 3-0.
