Atlético Ottawa's Path to Redemption Now Known

Looking to let the hopeful wind of change blowing on the squad carry it to success, Atlético Ottawa has a clearer picture of what its 2022 campaign will look like. The Canadian Premier League released on Thursday the 2022 season schedule, presented by WestJet, with an Ottawa season kickoff set for Saturday, April 9th at TD Place.

The 2022 CPL season has all eight clubs playing a 112-match season, with 28 matches per club in a single table format and consisting primarily of weekend matches. All matches will once again be broadcast exclusively on the CPL media partner OneSoccer.

Ottawa will begin its 2022 quest with three home weekend matches: Saturday, April 9th against Cavalry FC, Saturday, April 16th against Halifax Wanderers FC, and Sunday, April 24th against Valour FC.

Atlético Ottawa will host 2021 CPL Champions Pacific FC for the first time at TD Place on Saturday, May 7th, and again in their following home match to close out the first weekend of June. Ottawa will make the trip to Victoria later in the season (August 13th and September 11th).

Looking to break an unenviable curse, Atlético Ottawa will be traveling to Hamilton in search of a first goal against Forge FC on May 14th, but fans at TD Place will have to wait until Sunday, July 31st before witnessing this matchup in person again.

Ottawa will also renew its rivalries, old and new, with FC Edmonton (August 7th September 2nd at TD Place; May 22nd and June 19th in Edmonton) and the Wanderers (April 16th and August 17th at TD Place; June 30th and October 1st in Halifax).

The final match of the regular season will see Ottawa host York United at TD Place on Sunday, October 9th, before this year's knock-off round featuring the top four teams begin on October 15th.

With a balanced season seeing all clubs face each other four times (twice at home and twice on the road), the 2022 calendar will allow fans in the Nation's Capital to finally fully experience the flourishing Canadian Premier League and support their growing club through it all.
