Atlético Ottawa concluded its 2021 campaign this Sunday afternoon when it travelled to Halifax to face the Wanderers one final time this year. True to its philosophy, it was a fight until the very end for Ottawa in another challenging but rewarding 1-1 draw.

MATCH NOTES

Atlético Ottawa was playing for pride, donning on its black kit for a rare time this season, but facing a Wanderers club that needed a win to keep playoffs hopes alive.

Atlético managed to keep Morelli off the scoresheet, Morelli who had scored 8 goals on Ottawa in the previous 5 matches. A strong cohesive defensive showing for the Atléti.

Mista had a number of his young talents on the bench available for this match. Local talent Jaeden Mercure came on as a substitute in the 55th minute, granting him his longest appearance of the season.

Ottawa found themselves playing a man-down after Matthew Arnone got sent off on a second yellow card for excessive celebration following his game-tying goal, his first of the season, in the 57th minute. With nothing to lose, the Atléti fought hard, the only way it knows and remained in the game despite the missing man on the field.

Atlético Ottawa wraps up its first true CPL season with a 6W-8D-14L record.

OFF-SEASON
