HFX Wanderers FC News Release


HFX Wanderers FC is going head to head with Atlético Ottawa starting on 6 Nov 2021 at 18:30 UTC . The match is a part of the Canadian Premier League. HFX Wanderers FC played against Atlético Ottawa in 5 matches this season. Currently, HFX Wanderers FC rank 6th, while Atlético Ottawa hold 7th position.

In attendance for the coin toss at our match will be our Regional Legion representatives, Gwen Hayden (Secretary), Mike Regimbal (Sgt At Arms) and Dave Rhodenizer (President). The Wanderers and the Canadian Premier League will take the opportunity of this match to recognize those who have fallen protecting our country.

Atletico Ottawa have been previously eliminated from playoff contention, while this is a must-win for the Wanderers who currently sit in 6th place in the table. With 3 points today, the Wanderers would move into 4th place and temporarily secure the final playoff spot until York United play their last match of the season against Forge FC next weekend.

Injuries:

Omar Kreim, Mateo Restrepo and Jake Ruby all remain out of today's selection due to continuing injuries. The remaining players are all available for selection including João Morelli, Cory Bent and Stefan Karajovanovic.

Captains:

Andre Rampersad retains the captain's armband for the 2021 campaign.

Coaches:

This is Stephen Hart's third season in charge of the Wanderers and this year he signed an extension for three more years with the club. He is once again joined by assistant coach Mesut Mert and Goalkeeper Coach Jan-Michael Williams, who were both added to the coaching roster in 2020.
