Atlanta United FC News Release
ATLANTA - Atlanta United's Academy held its 2024 National Signing Day ceremony at the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Training Ground on Wednesday night with 10 Academy players signing their National Letter of Intent to begin their collegiate careers this upcoming fall.
All 10 players that chose to continue their careers at the collegiate level committed to a Division I program. With this year's class, the total number of Atlanta United Academy graduates to move on to DI institutions now sits at 79.
In addition to the 10 players committing to DI programs, four players will seek to continue their careers professionally. Homegrown defender Noah Cobb signed a professional contract in March 2022 and has featured in eight matches, seven starts, for Atlanta United. Brayan Gomez and Axel and Juan Hermenegildo will all pursue professional opportunities internationally.
"On behalf of our Academy staff and everyone at Atlanta United, we are proud of this exceptional group of young men and excited for them to continue their careers at the collegiate and professional levels," said Director of Methodology Javier Pérez. "This group of players showcases the numerous development pathways through our Academy and the fantastic opportunities ahead of all our graduates. This class has been with the club for several years and we look forward to the continued development of these players both on and off the pitch."
