On Wednesday, November 24, the Aces shellacked the Winston-Salem Polar Twins 11-1. Janis Tomans scored a hat trick and added a pair of assists for five points. Dan Beland added five assists. Several league records were broken which included most goals in a game (11), most goals in a period (6), shots in a game (60) and highest plus/minus by a player (+6, Janis Tomans).

On Thanksgiving, the Aces took to the road to face the tough Knoxville Ice-Bears. The Aces trailed 3-0 before Janis Tomans capitalized on a power play midway through the 2nd period. Knoxville added one more score in the 2nd to widen the gap at 4-1. Peter Bournazakis scored early in the final period before Chris Bodnar closed the door to a 5-2 Knoxville victory.

The Aces returned home Friday to do battle against the Fayetteville Fire-Antz. The game was a tight, defensive battle from start to finish. Fayetteville's Shawn Roed put the Fire-Antz on the board at 13:41, but Jan Kentos added a marker 0:30 seconds later. The game would stay tied through the 3rd period and into the overtime session. In the shootout, the Aces prevailed 3-2, with goals from Janis Tomans, Brett Roat and Jan Kentos.

The final game of the four game set was in Macon on Saturday. Chris Ferguson got Asheville on the board at 14:10 of the 1st period. Macon's David Deeves answered back with a goal at 1:10 of the 2nd period. Ferguson got his second of the game at 4:46. The Trax tied up the game at 12:32 with a goal from Mark Allen. Macon took their first lead of the game on a Dominick Dawes goal at 11:35. David Deeves sealed Macon's 4-2 win with an empty-net goal.

THE WEEK AHEAD...

The first place Asheville Aces will play three games this week, beginning Thursday, December 2, when the Aces play host to Huntsville at the Civic Center. Face-off is at 7:30. The two foes battle again the next night at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville. The three game set conclude on Saturday when the Aces travel to Macon to battle the Trax.
